myOneLogin and strong authentication

Using myOneLogin, you feel like you're logging on with an account and password. But behind the scenes, login uses a multi-part credential. One part resides on your computer and the other on the myOneLogin server.

Even if someone else has your myOneLogin password, they cannot access your applications without the other credentials. myOneLogin offers several security levels to protect the password.

What about the application passwords?

The myOneLogin service maintains and changes application passwords, automatically and securely. You don’t even need to know individual passwords to connect securely – myOneLogin does it for you. No one can ‘phish’ your password if you do not know it.

What if I change machines?

We know that you don’t always use the same machine to access key applications. When you connect from a machine without the proper credentials, myOneLogin uses additional ‘secret questions’ to authenticate you, again thwarting someone who has stolen your user ID and password.

Need even stronger security?

You may want even higher levels of security for your business users. myOneLogin offers different security levels using multi-factor authentication, letting you balance security, cost, risk, and ease of use.

• Basic: Two-factor authentication with browser cookies and mutual authentication. This level protects you from phishing attacks and password theft.
• Intermediate: Two-factor authentication with certificates and mutual authentication. Certificates are more secure than cookies, as they cannot be copied from the machine. This level protects you from phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks.
• High: The highest level of protection, using TriCipher's Identity Protection Tool with transaction protection and mutual SSL.

What about other methods?

Some application providers make you register the IP addresses you use, to protect you from password theft. But most computer users use dynamic IP addressing, and have a different IP address each time they connect. Mobile users might need to re-register multiple times each day. Worse, IP addresses can be easily spoofed.

myOneLogin avoids these problems, providing both convenience and security.
